We are thrilled to be able to offer all our mentors this series of 4 x 90mins interactive workshops exclusively developed with Jane Lewes, aimed at developing more advanced mentoring skills and techniques to help you expand your mentoring skills. We are offering all workshops free of charge to all mentors as a thank you for the support to the programme.

All sessions will be led by Jane Lewes, international mentoring expert, Senior Practitioner EIA from European Mentoring and Coaching Council; ESIA Supervisor accreditation EMCC and Owner of The Learning Consultancy. 

Workshops

Spaces are limited to 20 per session and are on a first-come, first-served basis. They will run from 18.00-19.30pm GMT. Please see below for more details of each workshop.

First Workshop:
24th February 2021

Exploring individual learning styles and their impact on the mentoring process.

Objectives:

  • Identify individual personal learning style preference
  • Explore the influence of personal learning styles for both mentor and mentee
  • Identify the impact of diverse learning styles on the mentoring process
  • Complete a personal action plan to ensure transfer of learning to mentoring relationships

Developing your listening skills.

Objectives: 

  • Identify and practise techniques to improve listening skills;
  • Enhance skills in correctly assessing non-verbal communication;
  • Identify filters in the listening process and develop skills to eliminate these;
  • Complete a personal action plan aimed at developing more effective listening skills in mentoring others

Developing more insightful questioning skills and techniques.

Objectives:

  • Develop techniques for framing appropriate questions
  • Develop skills for pacing questions
  • Apply scaling questions techniques
  • Complete a personal action plan to ensure transfer of learning to mentoring relationships

Promoting decision making in mentoring.

Objectives:

  • Develop techniques to support effective decision making
  • Identify criteria for good decision making
  • Support mentee to identify risk in the decision making process
  • Complete a personal action plan to ensure transfer of learning to mentoring relationships
