We carefully select and match each mentee with two experienced mentors. The right mentoring relationship brings immense value to both mentor and mentee
Sometimes all it takes to make an important decision is confidence. Our mentors are perfectly positioned to provide this encouragement and act as a sounding board, actively listening to your issues and using their experiences to help you think through potential solutions as well as offering you constructive challenge. Through the Impact Mentoring programme, you will obtain advice, guidance and perspective on your personal goals and career challenges.
Our mentors typically have 20-25 years experience, and are in senior positions such as Board Directors, CEOs, Executives and VPs. They have track records in companies as diverse as FTSE as well as VC-backed start-ups and private equity owned businesses and from a variety of sectors. All our mentors volunteer their time to support you in achieving new heights.
Whether you need support with a career move, running a start-up, developing leadership skills, navigating company politics, building self-confidence, returning to work or negotiating a contract – our network of mentors can support you. We partner each mentee with two mentors: one male, one female, giving a dual perspective and access to even more experience.
The Impact Mentoring programme is 100% volunteer-led and was created by INSEAD alumni to give the next generation access to the support and experience of the wider network. It was also shaped around our central focus of making a real difference: realising gender balance in business by supporting you in achieving your next ambition in a meaningful way.
Two mentors: matched with a male and female mentor to offer dual perspectives
12 hours mentoring: six one-hour sessions per mentor (six months)
Exclusive mentee-only events: forum to share and learn amongst peers
Safe environment: impartial, free from conflict of interest, and clearly defined boundaries in partnership agreement
Networking: interact with peers and top executives through our event series
Opportunity: get strategic career insights and development opportunities
We are delighted to invite any seasoned senior executives, board members, entrepreneurs, or organisational leaders with 15–25 years of professional experience with senior-level experiences across any sector, background and type of organisation to join our growing and unique mentor network. Given the diversity of our mentees and their career aspirations and goals we are always looking for new mentors. This is an opportunity for you to support the next generation of potential leaders in achieving their ambitions.
Mentors regularly share how personally rewarding the experience is for them, especially the satisfaction of being part of something so impactful and meaningful. Many have also shared how it has made them more aware of the challenges faced by younger women leaders which has led them to make changes in their own organisations resulting in improved gender, inclusion and retention.

As a Mentee you must:
Mentors: invest their time voluntarily. In total mentors commit circa 6 hours with each of their mentees. This includes one-hour meetings every four to six weeks for six to nine months and an additional couple of hours on preparation during the period.
Mentees: pay a fee of £500 which covers a share of the cost of the Chronus technology platform used to facilitate the programme. As a Mentee you also need to commit time both for the meetings but also to progress action points between meetings where required. In addition, we would hope you would give back by becoming a mentor after participating in the programme. The mentee-only events are ticketed in order to cover the running costs.
Events: Our flagship Balance in Business events and mentee-only evenings are ticketed in order to cover the running costs of the event. Speakers are not paid to attend.
