Why Join?

Sometimes all it takes to make an important decision is confidence. Our mentors are perfectly positioned to provide this encouragement and act as a sounding board, actively listening to your issues and using their experiences to help you think through potential solutions as well as offering you constructive challenge.  Through the Impact Mentoring programme, you will obtain advice, guidance and perspective on your personal goals and career challenges.

Our Mentor Network

Our mentors are INSEAD alumni with over 25 years experience and in senior positions such as Board Directors, CEOs, Executives and VPs. They have track records in companies as diverse as Barclays, Lego, Bain Capital, Google, BBC Worldwide, KPMG, United Nations, Goldman Sachs as well as VC-backed start-ups and private equity owned businesses.  All our mentors volunteer their time to support you in achieving new heights.

As a Mentee

Whether you need support with a career move, running a start-up, developing leadership skills, navigating company politics, building self-confidence, returning to work or negotiating a contract – our network of mentors can support you.  We partner each mentee with two mentors: one male, one female, giving a dual perspective and access to even more experience.

The Impact Mentoring programme is 100% volunteer-led and was created by INSEAD alumni to give the next generation access to the support and experience of the wider network.  It was also shaped around our central focus of making a real difference: realising gender balance in business by supporting you in achieving your next ambition in a meaningful way.

Once you have signed up as a Mentee there are four steps:

  1. Confirmation: After you have set-up a profile and applied via the Chronus technology platform you will receive an email confirmation that your application has been submitted
  2. Acceptance: Your application is then reviewed and accepted by the Impact Mentoring Admin Team.  If there are any questions regarding your application these will be emailed directly to you.
  3. Complete profile: You will then be asked to complete your profile and pay the application fee (outlined in eligibility criteria above).
  4. Matching: Once you have been accepted, completed your profile and paid the fee, your profile will be matched with four potential Mentors (2 female, 2 male).  These matches can sometimes take a week or two to be completed as we want to find the best possible match.  It is then your responsibility to select and connect with your chosen Mentors: one female and one male (it is very important to comply with this rule).

Once you have signed up as a Mentor there are four steps:

  3. Complete profile: Make sure your profile is 100% complete as you will only become part of the available mentor pool once this is done.
  4. Matching: You will be contacted by mentees with a request to mentor.  If you feel it is appropriate please accept. It is your responsibility to respond and accept the mentoring connection within two weeks of receiving it. After two weeks the request closes automatically, and results in mentees having to be rematched. If, for whatever reason, you do not feel it is appropriate (for example conflict of interest, not enough experience, time constraints) please respond right away so that we can rematch the mentee.  This does sometimes occur and is not a problem.  Each mentor is allocated up to two mentees although you can let us know if you would like to start with only one. Note: It is possible that you may not be immediately approached as your profile might not be a match for the mentees who are currently looking for a mentor, rest assured your time will come
